About SortMyLoan

What is SortMyLoan?

SortMyLoan is an online loan-matching service that connects U.S. consumers with a network of lenders. We are not a lender ourselves and do not make credit decisions. When you submit a request through SortMyLoan, your information is shared with lenders who can determine whether to extend an offer based on their own criteria.

Is SortMyLoan a lender?

No. SortMyLoan is a loan-matching service, not a lender. We do not approve loans, do not determine loan terms, and are not a party to any loan you may obtain through a lender in our network.

Is SortMyLoan free?

Yes. There is no fee to submit a loan request through SortMyLoan. Lenders compensate us for connecting them with consumers. See our Advertiser Disclosure for full details.

Is SortMyLoan legitimate?

SortMyLoan is a legitimate loan-matching service operated by an entity organized under the laws of Delaware. We comply with applicable consumer protection laws including TCPA, CCPA/CPRA, and other state privacy laws. Sensitive information you provide is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard 256-bit encryption.

The Application Process

How long does the application take?

The online application takes about two minutes to complete. It collects basic information about you, your income and employment, your loan request, and where to deposit funds if you accept an offer.

What information do I need to provide?

You'll need your full legal name, date of birth, Social Security number, current address, contact information, employment and income details, and bank account information for direct deposit. Some fields like driver's license are optional.

What happens after I submit?

Your application is shared with lenders in our network who serve your state. Most consumers see a decision shortly after submitting. If a lender extends an offer, you'll be directed to review the terms. If no lender matches, you'll be directed to a page explaining alternatives.

Can I save my application and finish later?

The application automatically saves your progress between steps. If you close your browser, you can typically resume from where you left off by returning to the same device and browser. For sensitive information, the application requires you to complete the full flow in a single session.

Loan Offers and Credit

Does using SortMyLoan affect my credit score?

Submitting a request through SortMyLoan does not affect your credit score. Some lenders may perform a soft credit inquiry to assess preliminary eligibility, which is not visible to other lenders. If you proceed with a specific lender's formal application, that lender may perform a hard inquiry, which can have a small temporary effect.

What credit score do I need?

There is no single minimum credit score that applies across all lenders. Several lenders in our network work with borrowers across a range of credit profiles, including subprime and near-prime. Approval depends on income, employment, debt-to-income ratio, and other factors in addition to credit score.

What loan amounts are available?

Loan amounts typically range from $300 to $5,000 for personal installment products through our network, depending on the lender, your borrower profile, and your state of residence. Larger amounts may require stronger income documentation.

What APR can I expect?

APRs from lenders in our network typically range from 5.99% to 35.99% for personal installment loans. Short-term loan products may have substantially higher APRs. Your actual APR depends on the lender, your credit profile, income, state, and loan amount.

How quickly will I receive funds?

Funding speed is determined by the lender, not SortMyLoan. Many lenders in our network offer same-day or next-business-day funding once final approval is complete. Your bank's processing times may affect when funds appear in your account.

Privacy and Security

How is my personal information protected?

We use industry-standard security measures. Data in transit is protected by 256-bit TLS/SSL. Sensitive fields including Social Security number, driver's license, and bank account information are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption. Only authorized personnel can access sensitive data and access is logged and audited.

Will SortMyLoan share my information with third parties?

Yes — sharing your information with lenders is how the service works. Your application is shared with lenders in our network so they can determine whether to extend an offer. SortMyLoan does not sell your information for unrelated marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I opt out of having my information shared?

Use our Privacy Rights form to submit a Do Not Sell or Share request. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a Do Not Sell opt-out. If your browser sends the GPC signal when you visit our site, we treat it as an opt-out for that session.

How long do you keep my information?

Active loan request data is retained for 90 days from submission and then archived. Consent records are retained for at least 4 years for TCPA compliance. Financial transaction records are retained for at least 7 years for federal recordkeeping requirements.

Communications and Marketing

Will I receive calls or text messages?

Yes. By submitting a loan request, you consent to receive calls, texts, and pre-recorded messages from SortMyLoan and from lenders we share your application with. This is necessary so lenders can present you with offers. Standard message and data rates may apply. See our TCPA Consent Disclosure for full details.

How do I stop receiving calls or texts?

Reply STOP to any SMS message to opt out of texts from that sender. To opt out of all SortMyLoan communications, email info@sortmyloan.com. Note: each lender in our network has its own opt-out process for communications from them — you may need to contact them directly.
