State Disclosures

SortMyLoan.com ("SortMyLoan," "we," "us," or "our") is not a lender. We are a loan-matching service that connects consumers with lenders and lending partners. Lenders in our network are independently licensed to make consumer loans in the states where they operate. Loan availability, terms, and conditions vary by state and by lender.

Loan Availability by State

Not all loan products are available in all states. State laws affect interest rate caps, maximum loan amounts, license requirements, and product types that lenders can offer to residents.

The states listed below have laws that significantly restrict or prohibit the types of consumer loans available through our network. Residents of these states may not receive any offers, or may receive only a limited subset of offers, when submitting a loan request:

  • Arkansas
  • Colorado
  • Connecticut
  • District of Columbia
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • North Carolina
  • Pennsylvania
  • Vermont
  • West Virginia

This list is provided for general guidance and is subject to change. State laws and lender availability evolve. The fact that a state is not listed above does not guarantee that a lender will extend an offer. Approval depends on the lender's individual criteria, your borrower profile, and other factors.

State-Specific Rate Caps

Several states impose annual percentage rate (APR) caps or other limits on consumer loans. These caps affect the loan products that may be available to you. Examples include:

  • Some states impose APR caps of 36% or lower on certain consumer loan products
  • Some states regulate the maximum loan amount or term length
  • Some states require special licenses for certain loan products

Lenders in our network operate within the laws of the states where they make loans. APRs, fees, and other terms vary by state, by lender, and by your individual borrower profile.

Active Duty Military Personnel

Under the Military Lending Act (MLA, 10 U.S.C. § 987), lenders are prohibited from making certain types of consumer loans to active duty military members and their dependents at APRs greater than 36% (calculated as Military Annual Percentage Rate or MAPR). Several lenders in our network do not extend offers to active duty military personnel because of these restrictions.

If you are an active duty service member or a covered dependent, you may not receive loan offers from lenders in our network. The application process includes a disclosure regarding the MLA at the time of submission.
